first lesson given involving E.T is learning ‘The
Country Code’
Cadets
are taught that they must always value and respect
the Countryside and for the people who live there.
Lessons
and tests taken include, preparation and packing of
kit and equipment.
Safety
which includes choosing a suitable camping area and
assessing the terrain and the most important having
and being able to deliver correct information for
purposes of rescue.
Other
elements include,
Camp
Craft
, for example – cooking, building fires latrines
etc.
Subjects
such as Map & Compass play a huge part within
Expedition Training as the ability to read maps and
use a compass correctly is essential.
Testing
Expedition Training is not only done at Classroom
level but also requires overnight camps;
Cadets
at 2 Star – 2 days and 1 night under canvass
Cadets
at 3 Star & above – 3 days and 2 nights under
canvass
