Frimley Park CLC
Hundreds
of teenagers from across the Army, Combined, Air
and Sea Cadet Forces descended upon Frimley Park
Manor House in spectacular form to experience
this years famous Cadet Leadership Course.
Designed to assess cadets on their leadership
ability, this course is held over one week
period at the Cadet Force Headquarters and is
run three times a year back to back each July.
The course is run by the permanent staff at
Frimley Park and is headed up by Lt Colonel
Henry Eagan, Commandant and a handpicked group
of Army Cadet Force & Combined Cadet Force
Instructors to assist the directing staff.
Staff Sergeant
Instructor Sheree Ali and Sergeant Instructor
Serena Notman both from the Yorkshire (N & W)
ACF were there again this year to take on the
challenge.
From the moment
the cadets arrive on Sunday afternoon to the
very last second the following Saturday they are
expected to join the frenzied Frimley pace.

With no time for error the
attendees are assessed from the word go on their
ability to lead and control a ‘command task’, in
both a typical and a field setting; give various
short lectures and have ‘command’ appointments
in which they carry out typical field
exercises. All the while there are sporting
competitions taking place on certain evenings
e.g. tug of war and boat races. All the
activities and exercises gain points which go
towards the intersection competition. The final
challenge is the Wishstream Race in which all
the cadets have the privilege of visiting
Sandhurst for the afternoon to tackle a log-run
and the famous assault course.
